Oh glorious Facebook giver of fill the void and escape our own personal loneliness. I too come to partake in the news feed and the oh shit did you see who died but at what point do we have to say, this isn’t what we thought it was going to be. And I’m holding out a hand to those of you who won and elected Donald Trump, this is about what are minds are fed. We need to know that Facebook through algorithms and soon to be AI that they know what we want to see and what we don’t. Lies people on both sides not just one has taken place and we cannot be quiet about it. No matter who you voted for don’t you care if I a Democratic was being feed bullshit and untrue facts about your candidate, I think you wouldn’t like that. And that goes for Hillary Clinton as well. We both got duped by fake news and bogus headlines, to the point we became blinded by it all. And Facebook has its huge part to play by helping no facts spread.
Look really I just want to lay some groundwork for us to get better information and not be torn apart by false news and headlines and Facebook needs to do it’s part to make that happen. There needs to be an all news feed that is a clean source of news, all of it the good and the bad but all true. You would have your own custom but I think we as Facebook people should push for changes. The “bubble Effect” is strong and you have to work to get alternate news and maybe it’s PBS that the people support type of thing but it can’t be driven by the almighty dollar. There just shouldn’t be a wall separating all of us into the news feeds that is tailored to our liking so we stay longer so FB can make more money. But we have to say no there is a better way and we want it or not at all.
Who do you want to be manipulated by, I ask because that is what marketing is about and that is what Facebook has become. Don’t be sheep and follow a herd and lets make a new saying that Everything online is most likely false in one way or another. We need to be stronger in our minds and beliefs. Reposts is not research and facts wrapped up in fiction is so much more interesting and engaging. So we have to be strong and figure out what the best solution would be, because Facebook isn’t going away, unless we unplug and for me that is so hard to do.
